Dear Parents, Staff, and Community,

Out of respect for the family of Betty Stephan and to allow our staff and students the opportunity to attend visitation and funeral services, Appleton City R-2 School District will have an early release on Thursday, April 16th at 11:30 a.m.

We understand the importance of coming together as a community during times like these and appreciate your understanding and support.

To make up for the missed instructional time, we will hold school on Monday, April 27th, which will also be an early release day (time to be announced).

Thank you for your flexibility and continued support of our school district.

Sincerely,

Sarah Miller

Reminder: There is no school on Friday or Monday. We will see everyone again on Tuesday.

See you soon,
Mrs. Bauer

To Parents of Seniors Attending the Senior Trip:

We will have a Parent/Senior Trip Meeting tomorrow evening, Tuesday, March 31st, from 4 - 6 PM. This is come and go as you can and should only take about 10 minutes for each student.

Both a parent and student are required to attend the meeting due to discussion and signing off on the trip rules. We will also need to make a copy of medical insurance and identification for the student attending the trip. Please bring both pieces of information to the meeting.

If this time does not work, contact the high school office to schedule an appointment for no later than April 14th. Finally, if your senior has not submitted their baby photos for the senior slideshow presented at graduation, this would also be a good time to turn those in! Thank you!

Bulldog Friday Update 3/27/26
ACHS students have recently had several opportunities to explore college and career pathways through campus visits and special events. Students traveled to the University of Central Missouri, State Technical College of Missouri, and Ellett Memorial Hospital to learn more about potential options after graduation. In addition, representatives from Missouri Southern State University and State Technical College of Missouri visited ACHS to share information about their programs and career opportunities. Our rootEd College and Career Advisor, Mrs. Deel, was also selected by the STARS (Small Town and Rural Students) College Network to participate in their Counselor Tour with visits to the University of Alabama, Auburn University, and Vanderbilt University. Additionally, she attended a rootEd regional training at the Maple Woods campus of Metropolitan Community College. Mrs. Deel, the STARS Network, and rootEd Alliance are dedicated to helping students from rural and small-town America have the information and support they need for a path to career success and economic stability.

Elementary Bulldog Families,

Today marks the end of the 3rd quarter. It has been an excellent quarter for predictable school and instruction. Usually we have several snow days and this year we only had one isolated set of snow days. Fourth quarter will be busy with competitions, state MAP testing, field trips, end of year iReady testing and end of year recognitions. Attendance will be very important in the 4th quarter as so much reading progress happens during the end of the year especially in K-2. Let’s finish strong bulldogs!
