The Appleton City R-II School District encourages qualified persons interested in running for a position on the school board to file to be a candidate in the April 2, 2024, election. Interested persons may file at the Superintendents office located at 408 W. 4th Street, Appleton City, MO. 64724. For more information contact Sarah Miller at 660-476-2161.
Filing will begin on December 5, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. and will continue during the district's regular business hours, which are Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Except for the first and last day of filing, filing will not occur on days that the school district's Central Offices are closed due to inclement weather. Filing will also not occur on the following holidays and breaks when the school district's Central Offices are closed:
December 21, 2023 - December 25, 2023 for Christmas Break.
Filing will resume on December 26, 2023, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
There are two positions available with three-year terms.

On Monday, Nov 13th Katie Campbell was recognized by Mrs. Deel on behalf of the National Society of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) for being selected as the DAR Good Citizen for Appleton City High School. Katie was selected for this honor because she regularly demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Seniors from Butler, Hume, Adrian, Miami, and Rich Hill were also recognized during today’s ceremony. Each Senior read aloud a personal statement about the civic responsibilities of a good citizen. Andrew Wepener from Hume High School was selected as the local DAR chapter essay and scholarship winner. Andrew will now go on to compete at the state level.



Thank you to our local VFW chapter for hosting our Veterans Day assembly today. And congratulations to our Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy essay winners!

Retake Picture Day is 11/10/2023! If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required.
If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to the school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.
Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code sent home with students this week to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT! Come pack the gym for tonight's sectional volleyball game! Our very own AC Bulldogs will take on the Northwest Hughesville Mustangs in pursuit of playoff advancement. Game time is 6:30 pm in Appleton City. All tickets must be purchased in advance via the MSHSAA website using the directions below.
