The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. ACHS seniors and their parents/guardians are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. The Priority Deadline for Missouri is February 1, 2024.
To help ACHS seniors and their parents/guardians complete the FAFSA, Ms. Deel will be hosting a FAFSA Frenzy at ACHS on Wednesday, January 10th from 10:45 am - 2 pm in the High School Gym. A taco bar from Half Baked Take and Bakery will be available to everyone in attendance. Parents/guardians should RSVP to the FAFSA event ASAP by emailing Ms. Deel at adeel@appletoncity.k12.mo.us
Link to the 2024/2025 FAFSA: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
----------------------------
FAFSA TIPS: It is recommended that families gather the following important documents and information for the senior and parents/guardians in case any data needs to be entered manually into the FAFSA: 2022 tax returns, child support payments, current balances of cash, savings, and checking accounts, net worth of investments, business, and farms. This information should be kept private and not shared with ACHS employees or students.
Students and their parents/guardians must provide consent to have federal tax information transferred directly from the IRS into the FAFSA form. If consent and approval are not provided the student will not be able to complete the FAFSA and will not be eligible for federal aid. Even if parents/guardians are not helping to pay for educational expenses they are still required to answer questions on the FAFSA.

We have some great news! Our preschool program will start up in January! After searching, we were able to hire a teacher and will be ready for students mid-January. Here's some FAQ's:
1. Enrollment will be limited to 10 students for this school year. Enrollment packets may be picked up during school hours starting Tuesday, December 12th from Central Office.
2. Preference will be given to students who will be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. If any open slots remain, students entering kindergarten during the Fall of 2025 may enroll.
3. There will be no fee for preschool.
4. Enrolled students must live within our school district boundaries.
5. No transportation will be provided.
6. Preschool will be a full day (most likely from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm).
7. Students' first day in session will be January 16th, with an Open House on the evening of January 8th.
8. The preschool will operate on the same calendar as the District.
9. Enrollment packets may be turned back in to Central Office. We will enroll students in the order paperwork is received. As part of the enrollment process, a Free and Reduced Lunch Application must be filled out, whether eligible or not.
10. When we have reached our capacity of 10 students, we will put any remaining students on a waitlist in the order paperwork was received.
We hope you are as excited as we are to start our preschool program up again! We can't wait to meet all of our future Little Bulldogs! If you have any questions, please call Central Office at 660-476-2161 or email smiller@appletoncity.k12.mo.us
