We are proud to announce our new Parents as Teachers Director! Please reach out to her with any questions!
From Bridget: Hello!! My name is Bridget Mount. Many of you know me from the Food Service program at school. I have been the Food Service Director for the past 4 years and I was also the Assistant Preschool Teacher for 2 years when the school first started the preschool. I am the Food Service Director again this year but I am adding a new job title as well.
I am very excited to take over the Parents As Teachers program after Miss Jina retired. I am looking forward to meeting all of the little ones. I will also be over the Hudson and Montrose PAT programs. There will be some changes due to scheduling since I am also the Food Service Director. Unfortunately there will no longer be Little People school. I will, however, be having visits on Mondays and in the evenings through the week. I will try to make accommodations to visit with as many families as possible.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at the school. I am looking forward to working with the children as well as their families.

Registration appointments for new Elementary students may be made by calling the Elementary Office at 660-476-2161. Appointment slots will begin next Tuesday, August 13th.
Returning student enrollment information will be sent via email the new few days or may be picked up at Open House. on August 15th. For questions, please call the office at 660-476-2161.

Attention Parents of students entering the 8th grade:
The Appleton City school district wants to remind you that Missouri state law requires all students entering the 8th grade receive a Tdap(Tetanus Diptheria and Accelluar Pertussis) and Meningitis vaccination prior to the first day of school in August. A written copy showing proof of the date and type of vaccine received must be provided to the school nurse by the first day of school on August 20th, 2024.
Attention Parents of students entering the 12th grade:
The Appleton City school district wants to remind you that Missouri state law requires that all students entering the 12th grade receive a Meningitis vaccine before the first day of school in August. (Your child would have received one Meningitis vaccine before entering the 8th grade or before age 16.) Note: In some cases a student who receives 2 Meningitis vaccines before age 16 will require a 3rd dose. A written copy from a health care facility showing proof of the date and type of vaccine received must be provided to the school nurse by the first day of school on August 20th, 2024.
If written proof is not received by this date, your child will be excluded from school until proof of vaccine is provided. Please feel free to contact the school nurse with any questions. (660)476-2161, option #7.
You may send the proof of the vaccine received to the school nurses’ office via fax or email.

What a week! The JH/HS concert band traveled to St. Louis to participate in the Six Flags Music Festival. They performed in the morning at the Palace Theatre for a panel of judges and an audience, then got to spend the rest of the day in the park. The kids played beautifully, were well behaved in the park and represented Appleton City very well.
Thank you to everyone in the community that supported the band in their fundraising efforts to get there, they would not have gotten this opportunity without it!
